A much-branched evergreen tree (5–)8–20 m. high, glabrous.

Leaves imparipinnate; petiole and rachis 10–32 cm. long, terete, striate; leaflets 7–13, usually alternate or subopposite, (2–)9–34 cm. long, (1.5–)3–13 cm. broad, membranous to chartaceous or rarely subcoriaceous, light green, the terminal one symmetric, oblong or obovate, somewhat cuneate at the base and with petiolule 1–2.3 cm. long, the median lateral ones narrowly oblong or elliptic, asymmetric at the base and with petiolules 0.5–12 mm. long, rounded or obtuse to acuminate at the apex, entire and not thickened at the undulate margin; lateral nerves arcuate near the margin, prominulous beneath; tertiary nerves prominulous beneath.

Panicles 20–95 cm. long, usually arising from the older branches below the leafy region, inserted just above the leaf-scars, pendent, lax, ample, with divaricate branches; pedicels of ♂ 1–6 mm. long, articulated near the apex, with minute bract at the base, those of the ♀ a little thicker and shorter.
