Morphology General Habit
A virgately branched shrub up to 2–4.5 m. tall; young branches tomentose; older branches with fawn-brown bark.

Leaf-blades broadly elliptic, 11–18.5 cm. long, 6–11 cm. wide, apex obtuse to acute, base acute or unequal, pubescent above, tomentose to densely pubescent beneath; bacterial nodules small, scattered, few; petiole 0.5–2.5 cm. long, tomentose; stipules triangular, 0.8–1.5 cm. long, acuminate, pubescent outside, with silky hairs in axils.

Corymbs terminal on lateral branches 9.3–15 cm. long bearing 1–2 pairs of leaves at the apex, moderately compact, ± 3 cm. across; primary inflorescence-branches up to 4 mm. long, tomentose-pubescent; secondary branches usually present; pedicels 5–8 mm. long, densely pubescent.
