Leaf-blades oblong-elliptic, 4–11 cm. long, 2–4.5 cm. wide, subacute to shortly acuminate at the apex, rounded to rounded-cuneate at the base, distinctly discolorous, fairly densely ferruginous hairy above but not velvety, nor obscuring the surface, densely softly velvety tomentose beneath with matted yellowish grey hairs; lateral nerves slightly impressed above in dry state; petioles 5–7 mm. long, hairy like the stems; stipules with base 0.5–1.5 mm. long and filiform part 6–7.5 mm. long, mostly obscured by long bristly hairs.
