Distribution
Apparently restricted to the area around Viçosa in eastern Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Ecology
Found in roadside and brejo vegetation.

Note
Vieira & Shepherd (1999) reported that this taxon is pollinated by bees of the family Apidae, but they observed that visits to flowers were very rare and that pollinia removal and insertion rates were also low.
