Morphology General Habit
Climbing or scandent shrub 1– 3 m high; branches terete, sometimes peeling to expose brownish stems, glabrous to puberulous; spines 3– 8 mm long on main branches, below branchlets and or cladode fascicles, 1– 3 mm long on terminal branches below the flowers and cladodes.

Cladodes solitary or in fascicles of 2– 6, flattened, 10– 30× 1– 2 mm, acute at the apex, attenuate at the base.

Inflorescences simple racemes, 1.5– 3.5 cm long; flowers solitary or paired; bracts ± 0.5 mm long; pedicel 3– 4 mm long, articulated above the middle.

Tepals white to cream, 3– 4 mm long, smooth at the margin; stamens included in the perianth, anthers yellow; ovary 3-locular; 4– 5 ovules in each locule.
