Leaves including those of axillary shoots ovate with conspicuous white margin, pungent, crenate, up to 20 x 10 mm, including up to 2 mm long apical spine and 2–4 pairs of equally long lateral spines, glabrous except for some appressed c. 0.2 mm long hairs along veins, base attenuate; petiole indistinct, up to c. 0.15 mm long

Note
Closely related to B. albomarginata with which it agrees in the crenate spiny leaves with white margin, but differs in the up to 10 cm long white corolla and the very large outer calyx-lobes.
