Aromatic shrub 1.5–3 m tall, with an indumentum of stout short, medium-length and long fine curly eglandular hairs and fine short and medium-length glandular hairs

Leaves elliptic to ovate blades < 8(–13) × 5.5(–13) cm, margins crenate, teeth rounded, < 5 × 5 mm, the edges of the teeth revolute, apex usually rounded, base usually rounded, pubescent with erect glandular and eglandular medium-length hairs above, woolly with dense matted long white eglandular hairs and shorter glandular hairs, and with yellow sessile glands beneath petioles < 1/4 the length of the leaf blade, indumentum like the stems

Note
Moschosma myriostachyum Benth. is based on syntypes belonging to two different species, one of the syntypes is T. discolor from Mt Chiradzura, Malawi, Meller s.n.!, and the other is T. riparia from Kholombidzo (Murchison) Falls in Malawi, Meller s.n.! The latter specimen was selected as the lectotype of M. myriostachyum by Phillipson and Steyn (2008).
