Descriptions

Distribution
It is a small family of 45–50 species, placed in between 2–5 genera by different authors. The only genus in New Guinea, Turpinia Vent., has recently been suggested to be better placed into Dalrympelea Roxb (see Simmons 2007), however, the nomenclatural issues are not resolved and the new combinations for Turpinia species have not yet been made in Dalrympelea, so the only valid names for the New Guinea species in this genus are under Turpinia.
