- Note
- Dandy made the combination Lindernia schweinfurthii as the name L. trichotoma had previously been used by Schlechter in 1924 (E.J. 59: 107) for a different species. Engler cited three syntypes with his description of Ilysanthes schweinfurthii and I (D.P.) have chosen Schweinfurth 3991 housed at Kew as the lectotype. Dandy clearly thought L. schweinfurthii and L. madiensis were distinct.
