Morphology General Habit
Low shrub to 0.8–2 m. tall; stems fairly densely branched, puberulous at first but soon becoming glabrescent and woody, to 5 mm. diameter, the bark rather corky and whitish.

Leaves alternate on the young shoots but in distinct lateral clusters on the older stems, sessile or with a very short petiole up to 0.5 mm. long; lamina oblanceolate to obovate or elliptic-oblanceolate, 1–3.1 cm. long, 0.5–1.3 cm. wide, the base cuneate, the apex subobtuse, scabrid or finely pubescent above, but becoming glabrescent, glabrous beneath, margin serrulate, lateral veins 3–5 pairs; stipules linear-lanceolate, 2.5–3 mm. long, ciliate margined.

Flowers solitary, axillary, whitish with a bright pink lip; pedicels 18–28 mm. long, puberulous; bracteoles 2, subulate, 1–1.5 mm. long, borne on the upper half of the pedicel.

Sepals linear-lanceolate, 3.5–4.5 mm. long, acute, subequal.

Petals very unequal; upper 2 oblong, ±4.5 mm. long, shortly apiculate; lateral 2 ovate-triangular, 5–5.5 mm. long, somewhat broadened at the apex, obtuse; lower petal (lip) suborbicular to broadly oval, 14–20 mm. long, 8–11 mm. wide, abruptly narrowed towards the base into a claw which is slightly longer than the calyx.
