Ophrys scolopax subsp. scolopax

This subspecies is accepted
The native range of this subspecies is Medit. to N. Iran. It is a tuberous geophyte and grows primarily in the subtropical biome.

Distribution

The geographic range encompasses westernmost Anatolia and some of the eastern islands in the Aegean Sea (in Greece so far known from Lesbos, Chios and Samos). [Aeg; Ana].

General Description

Plant 10-35 cm tall with 2-10 flowers in a secund spike. Sepals reflexed slightly to strongly. Petals rarely auriculate. Lip 6-9 × 7-10 mm; side lobes 1-3 mm long.
