Oldenlandia herbacea var. herbacea

This variety is accepted
The native range of this variety is Africa, Indian Subcontinent to Andaman Islands. It is an annual or perennial and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome.

Descriptions

M. Thulin et al. Flora of Somalia, Vol. 1-4 [updated 2008] https://plants.jstor.org/collection/FLOS

Distribution
S1, 3; widespread in tropical and southern Africa, also in Asia.
Ecology
Altitude range 65–200 m.
Note
Var. papillosa has been recognised on the basis of its papillose or shortly hairy calyx-tube, but this distinction does not seem meaningful. For example, in the collection Gillett & al. 25137 (K) there are two otherwise identical individuals, one with a papillose and one with a glabrous calyx.
