Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Andean, Orinoquia, Pacific. Elevation range: 200–2800 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Boyacá, Caldas, Caquetá, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Cundinamarca, Huila, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca.
