This subspecies is accepted, and its native range is Tropical & Subtropical Africa, Arabian Peninsula.

Morphology General Habit
A perennial herb with stems about 50 cm. long

Linear leaves up to about 15 cm. long 1 cm. broad
Morphology General Indumentum
The whole plant densely hairy, very like C. erecta subsp. livingstonii of which it may well be only a variant.
Diagnostic
It also somewhat resembles C. schweinfurthii except for being densely hairy and having peduncles c. 5-7 mm. long. It has not been refound.
