Habit
Tree to 15 m tall; bark smooth; entirely glabrous
Distribution
Endemic to the Moluccan islands of Indonesia — Ambon, Halmahera, Morotai and Seram.
Ecology
Collected from lowland and montane forests, from 600 – 2000 m elevation. Ambon and Seram are within the Seram Rain Forests Ecoregion and Morotai and Halmahera are within the Halmahera Rain Forests Ecoregion, both of which are broadly defined to include lowland evergreen, semi-evergreen and montane forests.
Conservation
The species is provisionally assigned a conservation rating of Least Concern (LC).
Phenology
Collected in flower in May, Sept. and Dec., and in fruit in May and July.
