Small tree or shrub to 6 m tall; young branches densely ferruginous stellate-pubescent.

Leaves ovate to elliptic, 1.5–7.5 cm long, 1–4.6 cm wide, acute to acuminate at the apex, rounded to obliquely truncate or slightly cordate at the base, margin coarsely and irregularly serrate, densely stellate-pubescent above, even more so beneath; petiole 2–3 mm long, densely ferruginous pubescent; stipules subulate to linear, 5–7 mm long.
