Morphology General Habit
Perennial; caespitose. Culms erect. Culm-internodes smooth. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 1-2 mm long. Leaf-blades conduplicate, or convolute; 7-15 cm long; 2-3 mm wide. Leaf-blade surface scabrous; rough on both sides; glabrous. Leaf-blade margins scabrous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.

Inflorescence a panicle. Panicle open; elliptic; effuse; 9-18 cm long; 4-5 cm wide. Primary panicle branches 4-8 cm long. Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets pedicelled.
