Culm-sheath ligule 1.5 mm high; ciliate. Culm-sheath blade linear, or lanceolate; narrower than sheath; deciduous; reflexed; 0.5-9 cm long; 1.5-4 mm wide; glabrous on surface. Leaves 3-7 per branch. Leaf-sheaths 2.5-6 cm long; glabrous on surface; outer margin glabrous. Leaf-sheath oral hairs setose; erect, or spreading; 2-3 mm long; dark. Leaf-sheath auricles falcate. Ligule a ciliolate membrane; 1 mm long. Collar with external ligule. Leaf-blade base cuneate; with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath; petiole 0.1-0.3 cm long. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 2-9 cm long; 4-10 mm wide; chartaceous. Leaf-blade venation with 6-8 secondary veins; with distinct cross veins. Leaf-blade surface glabrous. Leaf-blade margins scabrous. Leaf-blade apex acuminate.
