Morphology General Habit
Shrub 2–3 m. tall or tree to 10 m.; stems slender, densely ferruginous hairy when young, later glabrous, the older parts grey and minutely fissured.

Leaf-blades oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 2–9 cm. long, 0.9–3 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, rounded at the base, sparsely pilose above and below mainly on the nerves to densely almost velvety hairy on both surfaces with pale brownish hairs; petiole 1.5–3 mm. long; stipules triangular, 2 mm. long, joined at base, with subulate hairy appendage 8 mm. long.
