Morphology General Habit
Perennial or shrubby herb to 1 m tall with several stems from a woody rootstock; young stems glabrous and glaucous.
Morphology Leaves
Leaves glabrous (rarely a few hairs on midrib), glaucous, sessile (rarely petiole to 1 mm long); lamina ovate-elliptic or narrowly so or slightly pandurate, largest 3–7(9.5) × 1.7–3(4.2) cm; apex subacute to broadly rounded; base truncate to slightly auriculate, then clasping stem.

Inflorescence 2–11 cm long; peduncle 4–15(25) mm long; glabrous or with scattered stalked capitate glands; bracts elliptic, rounded (basal) to acute with straight mucro less than 0.5 mm, 15–30(40) × 7–18 mm, glabrous; bracteoles 1–3 mm long; flowers solitary.

Calyx 5–8 mm long, glabrous apart from finely ciliate edges.

Conservation notes: Restricted distribution, but probably not threatened.
