Morphology General Habit
Perennial herb, with thick woody rootstock.
Morphology Stem
Stems prostrate or sometimes erect, ± 3–60 cm. long, usually ± densely pubescent, hairs either long and spreading, up to 1–2 mm. long, or shorter and crisped; stems rarely sparsely pubescent or (not so far in Flora area) puberulous.
Morphology Leaves
Leaves oblong to ovate-oblong, (1–)1.5–6.5 cm. long, mostly 1–2.5(–3) cm. wide; gland at or near top of petiole, flattened or shallowly cup-shaped, raised on a distinct stalk 0.3–0.7 mm. long; rhachis without glands or rarely with sessile or subsessile ones between the paired leaflets, channelled but not crenate-crested along upper side; leaflets sessile, usually in 4–13(–14) pairs, oblong or lanceolate-oblong, uppermost often somewhat obovate, straight or slightly falcate, mostly (4–)5–15(–18) mm. long, (1.25–)1.5–5.5(–7) mm. wide, rounded or obtuse and mucronate at apex, occasionally subacute, usually ± densely pubescent on both surfaces, rarely sparingly pubescent to glabrous; midrib usually distinctly excentric (sometimes slightly so) and nearer anticous margin, but giving off on both sides ± numerous prominulous or prominent lateral nerves which are unbranched or branch normally only near margins.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Inflorescences
Inflorescences 1–4-flowered; pedicels (0.7–)1–3 cm. long.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers Calyx
Sepals acute.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Flowers Corolla
Petals yellow, 4–12 mm. long, 3.5–10 mm. wide.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Fruits
Pods 2.5–5.2 cm. long, (3.5–)4–5 mm. wide.
Morphology Reproductive morphology Seeds
Seeds brown to blackish, ± 2.2–3 mm. long and 2.5–2.75 mm. wide, not areolate.
