- Note
- Its reported presence in South Africa (Graham in Kew Bull. 12: 167 (1957)) was not confirmed in the taxonomic revision of this species by Germishuizen in Bothalia 18: 173–181 (1988). Likewise it was not possible to prove the presence of Oxygonum dregeanum subsp. lanceolatum Germish. in the Flora Zambesiaca area, since the diagnostic characteristics of this subspecies are not sufficiently well defined with respect to the other taxa recognized within Oxygonum dregeanum.
