- Small tree 4.5–6 m. tall; young shoots glabrous but leaf-buds sticky; bark buff, wrinkled and striate.

- Leaf-blades elliptic-oblong, 6.5–11 cm. long, 3.5–5.5 cm. wide, shortly acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous save for a few hairs in the axils on domatia beneath; petiole 1.2–1.5 cm. long.

- Flowers in many-flowered much-branched cymes 6.5 cm. long, 7.5 cm. wide, with short peduncles and secondary peduncles ± 1 cm. long; pedicels 1–6 mm. long; axes densely covered with short ferruginous glandular hairs.
