Perennial herb, with few mostly decumbent branches to 50 cm long, often almost leafless.

Leaves mainly basal, alternate, also tufted at nodes under lateral branches, the lowermost sometimes simple, but usually deltoid in outline, pinnatifid, 1–4 cm long, 0.5–3 cm wide, with few narrow lobes, subglabrous.
