Shrub flowering mostly on relatively short lateral branches; branchlets slightly flattened, puberulous with short spreading hairs, soon glabrescent.

Leaves subopposite; petiole 5–15 mm. long; lamina thinly coriaceous, somewhat glaucous, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic or oblong-elliptic, 5–11.5 cm. long, 1–4 cm. wide, acute to obtuse at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous except for a few scattered hairs near the base, with 4–6 pairs of lateral nerves, the lower ones ± strongly ascending.
