A delicate annual up to 40 cm. tall, with a sparse indumentum of stiff spreading biramous hairs.

Stipules narrowly triangular-subulate, up to 5 mm. long; leaf-rhachis up to 15 mm. long, including a petiole of ± 5 mm., which is present even in the basal 1-foliolate leaves, prolonged 1–3 mm. beyond the lateral leaflets; leaflets 1–5, linear-lanceolate or oblong, up to 20 mm. long and 7 mm. wide.
