Note
Stachys argillicola subsp. barbisina is similar to S. kulalensis Sebsebe in having long, simple hairs between the calyx teeth. However, Stachys argillicola subsp. barbisina does not occur in northern Kenya. Stachys argillicola subsp. barbisina has ± sessile, ± oblong leaves, with dendroid and/or stellate hairs on the upper surface, as opposed to S. kulalensis which has petiolate (petioles 2–17 mm long), ovate leaves with biramous and/or simple jointed hairs on the upper surface. This includes material formerly attributed to S. hildebrandtii Vatke, which is now considered endemic to northern Somalia, see Sebsebe in K.B. 48: 333 (1993).
Distribution
Range: Southern Ethiopia Flora districts: U1 K3 K4 K6 T2
