Morphology General Habit
Robust twiner to 15 m, latex white.

Stems massively swollen and up to ± 30 cm across towards the base (distinction between stem and basal tuber rapidly obscured with age), semi-succulent with shiny grey or reddish bark, young shoots densely pubescent to tomentose
Morphology Leaves
Leaves opposite, petiole 0.5–4 cm, densely pubescent; lamina obovate to elliptic or suborbicular, to ± 15 × 8 cm, apex rounded to subacute, base cuneate or rounded, tomentose beneath, at least in younger leaves, adaxial face pubescent.
