- Shrubby perennial herb (0.2–)0.5–1.5 m tall arising from a tap root.

- Leaves opposite or in whorls of 4; sessile or with petiole ± 1 mm long; lamina coriaceous, narrowly linear, 2.5–5(–10) × 0.1–0.2(–0.5) cm, apex acute, mucronate, margins smooth, strongly revolute, sparsely pubescent with soft white hairs on the midrib and margins.
