This species is accepted
The native range of this species is Mexico (Chiapas), Costa Rica to NW. Venezuela and Bolivia. It is a rhizomatous geophyte and grows primarily in the subtropical biome. It is used as an ornamental plant and a medicine and has environmental uses.
