Diagnostic
Differs from the type by having shorter and fewer flowers per cluster, 2–3 per cluster; perianth 3.9–4.1 × 0.2 cm; lobes 1.5–2 cm long; tube 1.8–2.1 cm long; fewer, leaves 2 per plant, smaller, 25–31.5 × 0.8–1.2 cm, smooth on both surfaces.

Grows within thickets in dry arid lowlands of the coastal Kenyan region
Conservation
Known in only one locality and probably Vulnerable (VU-D2).
Note
{i}Sansevieria aethiopica {/i}Thunb. var. {i}aethiopica {/i}occurs in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
