Biogeografic region: Amazonia, Andean, Caribbean, Orinoquia, Pacific. Elevation range: 10–2000 m a.s.l. Native to Colombia. Colombian departments: Antioquia, Atlántico, Bogotá DC, Bolívar, Boyacá, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca.
