General Description
Epiphyte. Peduncle round. Spathe green, tinted with red-purple. Spadix purple-brown, becoming greenish.
Diagnostic
At first sight very similar to A. pariense Bunting, but the leaves are barely subcoriaceous, and not cartilagineous, the two pairs of lateral veins arising from the base of the midrib not thicker than the remaining veins arising from the midrib, the spadix shortly stipitate (sessile in A. pariense), flowers 4 visible in each primary spiral ( 7 in A. pariense) and 5 in each alternate spiral (11 in A. pariense).
