Small tree 3–7 m. high, glabrous, the branches 4-gonous.

Leaves (2)5–9 x (1)2–4·5 cm., oblong-obovate or elliptic-obovate or elliptic-oblong, rounded at the often plicate apex, margin narrowly recurved, base ± cuneate, coriaceous, densely and very minutely pellucid-dotted (at least under the microscope), pinnately nerved, the midrib with a gland on the under side just below the apex; petiole 3–4 mm. long.
